‘Abid’s expertise covers wide range of aspects in the Islamic financial industry including the Shariah governance, structuring of Shariah compliant retail, trade, corporate and capital market products, and regulatory compliance. He also assisted clients in vetting and drafting legal documentation for Sukuks, corporate and syndication financing deals, real estate transactions, as well as Islamic wealth management instruments.

‘Abid started his legal career at Zaid Ibrahim & Co. at Kuala Lumpur undertaking wide range of legal and advisory works specializing on Islamic banking, Takaful and Islamic capital market industries. Thereafter, he joined Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad and Affin Islamic Bank Berhad as a Shariah officer in the Shariah Advisory unit of the banks. ‘Abid joined MAHA lawyers in 2020 as Senior Associate under CCREF Practice Group.
