He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governors (MICG), the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), and the Muslim Business Network Association of Malaysia (MUBIN), where he serves as the Head of Regional Network. He is also a member of the Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce, Putrajaya (DPMM Putrajaya) Legal & Discipline Committee. Mu'az recently co-founded the Malaysian Corporate Secretarial Association for Kuala Lumpur & Selangor (MyCoSec), where he serves as a central committee member, and is a Board of Advisor for the Malaysia Young Shariah Scholars Association (MySSA).

Mu'az's legal career began in the Shariah Courts, where he handled a variety of shariah litigation cases, including family dispute resolution, Faraid matters, and Islamic Wealth Management portfolio on Hibah Amanah. He has since gained extensive experience in the corporate sector, where he has been involved in numerous in-house business advisory and corporate-commercial exercises for foreign investors from the Middle East.

He has assisted in the incorporation of several Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) in Malaysia and has been appointed as a non-executive council member and legal advisor to some of these establishments, advising on their compliance and governance. He has also helped establish a number of Waqf foundations in Labuan, including one of the first public Islamic Foundations incorporated under the law of this unique mid-shore territory. In 2017, he was involved in the Risk Assessment on AMLCFT for Non-Profit Organizations conducted by FIED, Bank Negara Malaysia, where he provided his expert opinion on the matter.

In addition to his legal work, Mu'az is also the Co-Chair of MAHA International Group PLT (MAHA Group) and sits on the board of Tawafuq Consultancy Sdn Bhd (Tawafuq) and MAHA Shariah Advisory Sdn Bhd (MAHA Shariah).
